A great wagon (excerpt)

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase “each other” doesn’t make any sense. The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want. Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep.”

Rumi.

Rumi’s poem expresses beautifully the absolute Truth that many (if not all) humans unconsciously yearn. There is a deeper reality of non duality (not two); our essential nature, where there is no separation. It is always calling us home. Within the perfect, timeless reality of natural, spontaneous unfolding, we also experience a world of seeming duality, our human play of opposites; seemingly unfolding across time and space. It is so amazing that life expresses itself in this way. However many humans sense an unease, a ‘something not quite right’ about the paradigm of separation.

Our essential nature is already whole and complete, it lacks and needs nothing. It has no beginning or end. Our human brain has two hemispheres that ‘seemingly’ splits wholeness in to two. “Me’ and ‘other’, ‘me’ inside here (my body/mind) and ‘other’; the world outside of myself. ‘I’ appear as a subjective self in a world of objects outside of my subjective self.

Duality or the play of opposites is just a functioning in the brain, a human experience; enabling wholeness to have an apparent individual experience of life. Again, at the essential level there is only one, undivided, eternal singularity. Intuitively we already know this. We could call this unconditional love or pure, unconditioned potential or energy.

This deeper truth of reality will never be understood by the dualistic mind but it can be sensed and felt within Rumi’s words. Like a gentle whisper reminding us of our immaculate innocence and infinite freedom. Beyond ‘me’ and ‘you’ or ‘time’ and ‘space’.

Eternally only this indivisible moment…..

So beautiful...
