Living from the Heartspace

Writer's picture: Melanie BarrettMelanie Barrett

As the human develops in to adulthood it has generally acquired a whole lotta ‘knowing’ about itself, about life and about how it ‘should’ be in life and how life ‘should’ be.

Obviously this collection of ‘what I know or believe’ (my personal perspectives) about life, is going to be entirely unique based on each individuals genetics, conditioning and experiences.

Six people could experience something together but each would perceive through their own unique and individual lens of perception. Each would have their own unique thoughts and feelings stimulated by the experience. Each would attribute unique, ‘personal’ meaning to the experience.

This accumulated ‘knowing’ becomes the reference point for the adult and instead of enjoying the spontaneity and naturalness of the ever unfolding (unknowable) present moment, which of course is a complete mystery and can never be definitively known, the adult becomes stale, rigid and fixed as ‘mind’ continuously regurgitates ‘old’ data. The adult really blindly believes every thought ‘about’ life that the mind churns out! That’s why life can feel like 'Groundhog day’, same sh** , different day!

Instead of living the freshness of the ‘alive’ present moment life can feel like a stale, unsatisfying recording playing on repeat in the head.

To live from the heart is really to live from ‘unknowing’, or complete innocence. It doesn’t mean you become stupid and ignorant it just means you are not referring ONLY to your database of acquired knowledge to navigate life. When you live from the heart you really are relying more on natural intuition and resonance to navigate life, of course you have the co pilot of the mind, but the mind is no longer ‘in charge’.

Humanity has lived predominantly from the headspace for a loooong time.

To live from the heart always feels spontaneous, fresh and alive. The heartspace doesn’t know separation or time and space. It doesn’t know ‘other’. It doesn’t necessarily believe the judgements or position or viewpoint of the minds perspectives ‘about’ reality to be definitively true. The heartspace doesn’t feel separate from anything or anyone, even passed loved ones.

From the heartspace it is truly realised that there is only One…infinitely.

The more that the human reconnects consciously to the breath, to presence, to the heartspace, and familiarises itself with the infinite peace and freedom of this space, it begins to fall back in to love with life.

That innocent child within you didn’t go anywhere…

It’s ALWAYS here in the heart..waiting for you to return home…
