A Gentle Festive Season Message

As the year draws to a close and the festive season unfolds, I want to take a moment to wish you joy, peace, and contentment — not as distant ideals to reach for, but as ever-present qualities already, always and only here within….right now.

Life is made of countless fleeting arisings: thoughts, sensations, memories, feelings, and experiences that appear and dissolve. Each of these moments is impermanent, each comes and goes like a wave, yet within that constant flow there is a stillness that cannot be touched, moved, or diminished in any way. A light that shines forever. That still light — the quiet heart of being — is the peace that can never not be here.

For some, this season may bring wonderful celebration and togetherness. For others, it may bring longing for loved ones who are far away, or memories of those who are no longer with us, or times gone by shared with others when all seemed so ‘right’. Whatever arises — joy, sadness, loneliness, melancholic mood, excitement, or quiet reflection — each is simply a wave of experience passing through the ocean of (y)our essence. The ocean itself is never apart from any wave or any arising within it! So let the excitement flow, let the sadness and tears flow, let EVERYTHING flow naturally…as it is!!

This is the comfort and reassurance I wish to share with you: there is no separation in Truth, no missing, no lack, no worse or better at the deepest level. Whatever is appearing, however it feels, you are NEVER apart from the essence that is infinitely whole, perfect, alive, and complete.

So as the lights shine and sparkle and as the year turns, may you melt in this quiet, unwavering peace. May you notice the laughter, the warmth, the longing, and the ordinary beauty of moments as they arise and pass, knowing that all of it — each fleeting moment — is already cradled in what can never be taken, diminished, or lost.

Wishing you a festive season of tenderness, wonder, and the gentle recognition of the truth that you can never be apart from the pure, unified light that we are, eternally, at our essence.
